Conditions of Tender
Tender No. 13/2005
For the supply of Six Belt A Conveyors
1- Competitive prices are invited for the above.
2- Prices should be offered on basis of the delivery and commissioning of Six Belt A Conveyors at Kosti R.T.C. Dock yard. R.T.C. will pay the local customs and all taxations.
C&F Port Sudan prices are to be valid for at least (45) days from the closing date which is the 17th of January 2006.
3- Tenders must be accompanied by an initial Bid Bond deposit of not less than 2% of the total value of the tender. This initial deposit may be paid by a bank letter of guarantee valid for three months.This amount is refundable to unsuccessful tenderers .The successful tenderer will be requested to raise up his initial deposit up to 10% Performance Bond valid up to the satisfactory completion of the contract.
4- Tenderers should ensure themselves that their tenders are actually submitted and dropped into the tender box in time.
5- The tender must be in a red wax sealed envelope. The tender no. and subject must be written on the envelope and to be addressed to RTC stores and purchasing manager. Late tenders or tenders not accompanied by the initial deposit will be rejected.
6- Tenderers must give detailed specifications of systems or items to be supplied. Inspection certificate for the material will be asked for with the shipping documents.
7- Local companies offering on behalf of the principals must satisfy all the requirements of stamp duty, taxation, zakat and certificate of registration of VAT authorities.
Specifications for four units of mobile belt conveyors
(1) General;
(2) THE RIVER TRANSPORT CORPORATION IN SUDAN intends to use belt conveyors to develop the system of loading and unloading of packed and sacked materials and cereals specially corn, wheat durra, sugar and cement etc which are to be loaded or unloaded in / from bulk carrier barges. The transfer of the material will be to/ from transporting trucks or the shore.
(3) Main characteristics:
- To be built according to an international specifications.
- To be built in units for a total conveying length of 40 meters for each unit ( each carriage with a center distance of 3-5 meters)
- The carriage height is to be about 1 meter.
- The belt width is to be 600 mm minimum.
- To have a suitable conveying speed of 20 metres / min minimum.
- The under carriage is to be constructed from light materials and with pneumatic tires.
- The belt is to be with rough surface to suit the conveying material on an inclined plan up to 30 degrees and can be dismantled easily.
- The belt is to be driven by means of an electric motor.
(4) Documentations and Spare parts:-
-mounting drawings, service manuals and spare parts catalogues are to be supplied in English language.
- Spare parts for two years for the motors and carriage and belt components are to be supplied.
-Two parts rolls of belt are to be supplied.
(5) Climatic working conditions
- Ambient temperature 47 degrees centigrade at relative humidity of 14%.
- Max. Relative humidity is 88% corresponding temperature of 25 degree centigrade
- Altitude above sea level 450 M.
- Atmosphere is heavily laden with dust of abrasive nature.

Specifications for Two units of Mobile Belt Conveyors
(1) General;
THE RIVER TRANSPORT CORPORATION IN SUDAN intends to use belt conveyors to develop the system of loading Granulated materials and specially sand and gravel which are to be loaded or unloaded in flat deck barges or bulk carrier barges. The transfer of the material will be to/from transporting trucks or the shore.
(2) Main characteristics:
- To be built according to an international specifications.
- To be built in units for a total conveying length of 40 meters for each unit ( each carriage with a center distance of 3-5 meters)
- The carriage height is to be about 1 meter.
- The belt width is to be 1.0 metre.
- The belt is to be with raised edges to suit the conveying of gravel and sand and can be dismantled easily
- To have a suitable conveying speed of 20 metres / min minimum.
- The under carriage is to be constructed from light materials and with pneumatic tires.
- The belt is to be driven by means of an electric motor.
(3) Documentations and Spare parts:-
